The conference-debate organised on November 5, 2023 by the OEACP Research & Innovation Program in association with IFDD through the PDTIE project, focused on the theme “How to make young green entrepreneurs spearhead of sustainable development in francophone Africa?”
Its aim was to provide information on best practices for investment in research and innovation (R&I) and the economic valorisation of its results, as well as potential solutions to the challenges facing young innovators and entrepreneurs.
After a series of speeches emphasizing the importance of fostering green entrepreneurship among young people in Francophone Africa, in order to reconcile the entrepreneurial spirit of young Africans with the need to meet the pressing needs of society, while valorizing local resources and knowledge, and preserving the environment (Aya Kasasa, OACPS Secretariat, video message) and on the fact that sustainable development can only be achieved by following the path of green entrepreneurship (Taguem Fah, MINRESI), the debate focused, through the testimonies of 4 representatives of third-party projects, on their experiences and knowledge for an environment conducive to accelerating the adoption of R&I results.

Debate with 4 third-party projects coordinators : Laurent Bitjoka (PEPITA-UN project, PDTIE), Malick Leye ( APEX project, VaRRIWA), Flavien Kouatcha ( SYNERIME project, PRICNAC) and Donald Tchaou (DigiCLA project, AGriDI)
Four young innovators or entrepreneurs each delivered a 2-minute presentation of their innovation, providing an insight into the subject from the point of view of the beneficiaries of the support received by previous projects.

Finally, experts from Cameroon’s Centre d’analyse et de recherche sur les politiques économiques et sociales (CAMERCAP-PARC) and the Centre d’études et de recherche en économie et gestion (CEREG) of the University of Yaoundé II (Cameroon), organizations in charge of studies (Cameroon and DRC) on the needs, capacities and constraints of the private sector in the sustainable development sector, brought the event to a close.
