The knowledge on integrating energy production along the waste value chain in the SIDS of the Indian Ocean will be enhanced through capacity building of local skills and competencies, as well as tools for the collection and exchange of information at national and regional levels. This will boost research and innovation (R&I), provide growing opportunities for young students and researchers, and improve the R&I parameters of the countries for further development of the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) sector.
