PDTIE at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

The 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28) will take place from November 30 to December 12, 2023, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
To mark the occasion, the Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable, with financial support from the Quebec government, has invited five young delegates from French-speaking countries in the South to take part in the work of COP28, including two young beneficiaries of the PDTIE.
The young delegates are beneficiaries of the PDTIE project:
– Tatiane Marina ABO, a young Cameroonian innovator (MIPROMALO third-party project) involved in the production of high-performance insulating panels from plants and an ecological cement, is part of the official Cameroon delegation.
– Lajoie PENDUMBA AMAZONE, beneficiary of the practical training organized in Goma (DRC) in 2022. Following the training, he set up the ARES company in Kisangani to produce and install renewable energy systems in remote areas.

Stakeholders are called upon to defend their priorities in terms of mitigation, adaptation and resource mobilization.
In addition to their participation in the Cdp28 sessions, these young delegates will take part on December 9, 2023 at 3pm, in the side event “Green entrepreneurship and eco-innovation: the creativity of French-speaking youth in the fight against climate change” organized by IFDD. This major activity at the Pavillon de la Francophonie will be moderated by the committed artist A’Salfo from the group Magic System, under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Benoit CHARETTE, Quebec Minister of the Environment, the Fight against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks, and Ms. Caroline St-Hilaire, IOF Administrator.
