The Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable (IFDD) dedicates the latest issue of its newsletter to the crucial role of research and innovation. Through the IFDD, La Francophonie deploys and supports a large number of innovative, targeted and stimulating actions, all of which contribute to sustainable development, progress and the fight against poverty. Among its many actions, the PDTIE project, supported by the ACP Innovation Fund, enables the strengthening and improvement of applied research and innovation (R&I) capacities through the training, support and valorization of innovations adapted to local contexts, needs and knowledge in Cameroon and the DRC.
In this newsletter, you’ll find a focus on our program and the PDTIE, through articles from:
- Dr Ibrahim NORBERT RICHARD, Assistant Secretary-General, Political Affairs and Human Development Department, OEACP Secretariat, on the OACPS vision for innovation in the French-speaking world.
- Simona MARI, STI expert at DG INTPA, European Commission, on the importance of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in Africa.
- Lionelle NGO SAMNICK, PDTIE coordinator, looks back on the actions undertaken by IFDD to promote inclusive innovation, including PDTIE.
