The LEAP4FNSSA (Long-term EU-AU Research and Innovation Partnership for Food Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture) consortium is organizing an expert workshop on September 13 in Accra, Ghana, on trade, innovation and entrepreneurship and their impact on food and nutrition security and sustainable agriculture (FNSSA). Two studies have been implemented on these issues. One of them is on improving FNSSA in relation to innovation and entrepreneurship, and the integration of gender and youth for supporting sustainable food systems in Africa. It deals with understanding how the current policies and practices for R&I on FNSSA can trigger entrepreneurship growth particularly for women, youth, and vulnerable people, and how R&I could promote this entrepreneurship, for socio-ecological resilience as well as improved FNSSA and livelihood. The other one is dealing with improving FNSSA in relation to the EU- Africa trade in agri-food products and deals with enhancing the benefit of trade to improve FNSSA and/or mitigate the potential adverse effects.
