The Research and Innovation Programme of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) is co-organising a regional workshop on Open Science in the Pacific on 27 June 2022, with the National Institute of Science and Technology from Timor Leste , the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and the Pacific Community.

Open Science is a policy priority for many institutions and governments as it enhances the quality, efficiency and responsiveness of research. 

Discussions and interactive activities will be organised during this workshop, in order to share the different views and experiences of the various participants on the subject. Selected international and regional panelists will not share and disseminate good practices from different countries around the world and the Pacific region. They will also facilitate the co-creation activity session, in order to suggest some initial recommendations, which could serve as a basis for the development of a ‘Manifesto’ for Open Science in the Pacific.
