Two new doctors of pharmacy for PDTIE

After the 6 Doctor of Pharmacy defenses by CRITESS innovators, it’s now the turn of two PI-RAM innovators to present their final work in Pharmacy, with distinctions that make PDTIE proud. With these eight new doctors of pharmacy, PDTIE is delighted to be helping to boost pharmaceutical research in the Congo Basin.

In fact, two PI-RAM innovators (Christophe Ajuamungu Hamuli and Pascal Mulume Bagalwa) defended their final theses in pharmacy at the official University of Bukavu on part of their innovation projects subsidized by PDTIE.

  • Christophe Ajuamungu’s dissertation, entitled “Synthèse verte de nanocapsules antibactériennes encapsulant des extraits de deux plantes congolaises actives contre les souches cliniques de Salmonella typhi” (Green synthesis of antibacterial nanocapsules encapsulating extracts of two Congolese plants active against clinical strains of Salmonella typhi), was awarded top marks by all the juries. It should also be pointed out that Christophe finished his training course as valedictorian with distinction.
  •  Pascal Mulume followed in the footsteps of his PI-RAM teammate, also achieving distinction. His thesis dealt with the green synthesis of anti-salmon nanoliposomes based on two Congolese food and medicinal plants.

After attending these two presentations, Prof. Patrick Memvanga, PI-RAM Coordinator, took the opportunity of his presence in Bukavu to meet other PI-RAM beneficiaries (innovators, women market gardeners and disadvantaged young people).

As a reminder, the PI-RAM project lead by the University of Kinshasa is one of the 15 third-party projects funded by PDTIE under the ACP Innovation Fund.
