Encouraging results from PDTIE’s practical training courses

Cédric Lebogo and Fabrice Omboudou, winners of PDTIE‘s practical and ecological training courses in 2022, have set up an agroecological farm supported by their structure called GIC Bio alpha tout (BAT). Wishing to share their know-how, they took part in a training course entitled Agriculture régénérative : fabrication des bio intrants, from September 17 to 20, 2024, in the West Cameroon region, more precisely in the Batié district.

The aim of this activity was to contribute to the training of women and young pioneers in rural agriculture, in support of the NGO Jeunes volontaires pour l’environnement du Cameroun (JVE). During the 04 days of training, participants were introduced to the principles of regenerative agriculture, which promotes sustainable agricultural production that respects the environment.
The training took place in the auditorium of the Batié town hall, in the presence of local authorities such as the mayor of Batié and the district’s agricultural delegate. More than 50 participants learned how to make bokashi and 21-day compost.

The self-sacrifice and resilience of Cédric Lebogo and Fabrice Omboudou also enabled them to be selected as beneficiaries of the PI2A (Je Produis mes Intrants, Mes aliments, Mon Argent) initiative. The PI2A initiative is implemented in Cameroon by Ingénieurs Sans Frontières (ISF), with the support of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) through the OIF Representation – Central Africa (REPAC), to encourage and support young people to develop integrated climate-economic projects whose implementation will meet the challenges of food security in the French-speaking countries of the Congo Basin.
