The University of Goma (UNIGOM) is pleased to launch a call for papers for the Scientific Days co-organized by UNIGOM’s VaDech-RD Congo project. These scientific days will take place from December 2 to 3, 2024, at the Hôtel Cap-Kivu, Goma (DR Congo) on the theme “Waste valorization in the Congo Basin: socio-cultural dynamics and environmental technologies”.

Objectives

To reflect on waste management in the Congo Basin, following a systematic three-dimensional reading grid: (1) initiatives and/or institutional efforts to manage and valorize waste in this area, their underlying logics and rationales; (2) the crisis of environmental awareness among citizens in this area, as well as the resulting practices of waste mismanagement; and (3) the social, technological and economic issues linked to the diversification and multiplication of waste in this area.
