Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago has been awarded the Express’ “Community Group of the Year” for their outstanding work in battling homelessness and shelter issues.
Their activities are carried out under the Building Resilient Communities (BRC) project, supported by the HIT RESET Caribbean initiative. The BRC project assessed the vulnerability of coastal communities to climate change and understood the factors that make a community vulnerable. They were able to identify actions to reduce these vulnerabilities and enhance the resiliency of the communities as we aim to build more sustainable communities with strengthened internal capacities.
