This Thursday, December 12, 2024, marked the official closing ceremony of the project to strengthen the Technology Transfer Office of Joseph KI-ZERBO University (BTTI-UJKZ), a support system established as part of the VaRRIWA project.
In two years, the project has achieved:
🏢 The establishment and equipping of an operational Technology Transfer Office,
🌟 The creation of 12 innovative startups,
📜 The protection of 12 trademarks,
💸 The provision of seed funding for incubated startups,
👩💼👨💼 171 jobs created, with a remarkable female participation of 49%.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Jean-François Kobiané, President of Joseph KI-ZERBO University, in the presence of Mr. Marc Duponcel, Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation in Burkina Faso. Mr. Lamine THIAM represented the regional coordination of the VaRRIWAproject.
The President of Joseph KI-ZERBO University emphasized the strategic importance of BTTI-UJKZ within the University and reaffirmed his commitment to fully integrating it into the university’s organizational structure.
